Posted on 2020-12-14
Recently, 2020 A&D Awards issued the winner list, and META-Project’s new work HeyTown Art Center won the gold award of Best Cultural category.
For 17 years, the A&D Awards have set the benchmark for excellence in architecture and interior design and are respected as the most prestigious awards within this sector in the region. This year, A&D Awards 2020 brings the best of the A&D Trophy Awards and A&D China Awards together into one streamlined awards program.
Comments by the Jury:The HeyTown Art Center is part of an ambitious project to regenerate a declining industrial zone, not far from Beijing’s CBD, by transforming the area into a funky precinct for exhibitions, cultural events, performing arts and festivities. Overlooking an elevated railway, the centre’s exterior is a nod to its past and future, a combination of traditional red brick and semi-reflective aluminium cladding which captures the ever-changing light. It is the centre piece of an emerging cultural hub.
