META-Project exhibited at Beijing International Design Week's "Artisanal Creation" theme exhibition

On the morning of October 10, 2021, the exhibition "The Creation of Intentional Craftsmanship", co-organized by the School of Architecture of Tianjin University and the Urban Environment Design (UED) magazine, was officially launched at the China Millennium Forum in Beijing. The exhibition showcases the research and thinking of the School of Architecture of Tianjin University on the hot issues of architecture in recent years. The exhibition presents a series of reflective discussions and practices in the areas of historical tracing, design research and teaching practice. The theme of the exhibition is "Creation by the Artisan", with "Research on the Great Wall", "Reconstruction of Tradition", "Rural Creation", "Intelligent Construction", and "The Great Wall". The exhibition presents a series of teaching and research results of the architecture students of Tianda University in five sections: "Great Wall Research", "Traditional Reconstruction", "Rural Construction", "Intelligent Construction", and "Teaching Experiment".
Among them, META exhibited in the "Teaching Experiment" section with the theme of "URBAN WILDERNESS · JIGSAW FOR SYMBIOSIS", showing some of the results of Wang Shuo's professional teaching in the fall semester of 2020-2021 at the School of Architecture of Tianjin University.
Wang Shuo brings project Fun Palace to Shenzhen Creative Week 2020

Shenzhen Creative Week 2020 exhibited in Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center from August 20 to 23 this year. Wang Shuo was once again invited to participate in the exhibition with the project "fun Palace",which responds to how to activate the base in an old industrial plant- when the scale of the building expands, the following problem is how to let more people experience and even share the precise links in high-resolution and multi perception.
In addition, Wang Shuo also delivered a speech of "from industrial plant to co-living/culture-art complex" at the design forum to explorer the response to the key problems in the process of urban renewal of META-Project.
Project House T Exhibited in 2019 SUSAS

The 2019 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season (SUSAS) was held in Yangpu Binjiang on September 29. House T exhibited in the Planning Architecture section of this exhibition (4F "Vitality" booth of Maoma Warehouse). This exhibition presents the latest waterfront studies and practices of eight Chinese young architects. As a design force that is gradually maturing, young architects demonstrate diverse and profound ideas and creative abilities due to their different educational backgrounds and growth experiences. Faced with the eternal topic of people and water, they have given new responses for the present period and explored a variety of possibilities for the future.
House T, located in a prime position within steps to the beach, this site not only takes in sweeping view of the sea without any obstruction. we re-create a new spatial experience that flows “through” the building. which engages people with the surrounding of this prime site as one moves through the house, providing a sense of the entire natural/communal environment in incidental moments.

The 16th Venice Biennale China City Pavilion "Across Chinese Cities- The Community" was opened in Venice on May 26, 2018. Promoted by Beijing Design Week and curated by Beatrice Leanza (The Global School) and Michele Brunello (DONTSTOP Architettura), the exhibition presents a selection of case studies from urban as well as rural Chinese contexts based on integrated planning, and therefore on reconciliation, on policy based and community based approaches to organisation with the aims of inclusivity, empowerment and collective creativity.

New Youth Commune Exhibits at Bi-CIty Biennale

The curtain of 2017 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture rises on December 15, 2017 and the official opening day is on December 16. The Biennale, themed as "Cities, Grow in Difference", is co-curated by curators, critic Hou Hanru, founding partners of URBANUS, architects Liu Xiaodu and Meng Yan. The project "New Youth Community" of META-Project is presented here.

Taikang Space 2017 Fall Group Exhibition, “Building Issues” is open to the public during October 28- December 9.
“Building Issues” aims to present an alternative perspective, by focusing on the architecture and thoughts provoked pertinent to this issue. This Exhibition is co-curated by one of the participating artists, Wang Shuo, and Su Wenxiang, curator of Taikang Space. The other young architects and urban researchers are Dai Pu, Li Danfeng, Li Han, Li Hao, Yin Yjun, Zhou Jianjia and Zhu Qipeng.
Water Tower Renovation Exhibits at Shanghai Urban Space Art Season

On October 15, 2017, the curtain of Shanghai Urban Space Art Season officially rises in the 80,000,000 kg silos of Min Sheng Dock. The exhibition "thisCONNECTION-Sharing a Future Public Space" is co-curated by the famous Italian achitecture designer, Stefano Boeri, and Xiangning Li, the professor of Architecture and City Planning School of Tongji University, and Ningzhen Fang, the famous Chinese-Japanese artist. There are almost 200 famous curators of exhibitions, planners, achitects and artists participating this exhibition. The Water Tower Renovation curated by META-Project is also exhibited here.

Water Tower Renovation Exhibits at Contemporary Architecture Exhibition in Harvard University

META-Project‘s Water Tower Pavillon was invited to join the exhibition Towards a Critical Pragmatism: Contemporary Architecture in China curated by Li Xiangning, deputy dean of Tongji University College of Architecture and Urban Planning. Open in the main gallery of Gund Hall at Harvard GSD from September 13th to October 24th, the exhibition aims to encourage further conversation about the present and future state of China’s architecture culture and highlights several buildings in five thematic categories—cultural, regeneration, digital, rural, and residential—and showcases the 60 architects’ commitment to conceptual criticality and quality of production.

META-Evolution Project Exhibits at Design Shanghai 2013

[META-Evolution] project was invited to participate Design Shanghai 2013.
The project for the exhibition contains 2 parts: The first part, [WILD BEIJING] focuses on the street commerce in the micro system of the urban fringe in Beijing. [META:HUTONGS], the second part of the exhibition, is intended to reveal the unique quality of the urban emergence, that have grown out from the bottom of the alleyways and inside of the courtyard houses, by the individual people in a collective and constant effort.
